Here we are, on the eve of our Nation’s 249th birthday, and boy oh boy is it quite the popcorn worthy drama anywhere you look in the media, on social, and the internet.
For better or worse, we are a nation of firsts, perfectly imperfect, and still (no matter what you read or hear) a land of opportunity unlike anywhere else on this planet or in history.
The liberty we all enjoy, even allows for the public disgust and raving of all of its citizens. Still, all these years later – freedom wins. It’s a beautiful thing, those who are happy and those who are upset – still fee
So as you spend time with family and friends, cookout, enjoy camping or a lake, watch fireworks, or protest – be thankful that this is the place in this crazy world you were live. Remember that you’re free to think and believe as you wish, disagree, stay, and yes leave too.
When you’re giving thanks, remember those whose sacrifices and service have afforded you the lifestyle you have today. Most importantly though, remember your Creator and the blessings you have in abundance, remember the frailty and fleeting nature of the material world around us and its various social political infrastructures, remember that there is a home beyond the home of the brave that should have our alligence above any others.
“And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at Him.”
Mark 12:17 NKJV
Stay safe this holiday weekend and remember the importance of love, grace, and kindness.
